HEROtsc, one of the UK’s largest contact centre companies, has confirmed they are to take over one of Derby’s largest and most prestigious contact centre facilities, employing over 700 staff.
The former Egg building on Pride Park, which will become HEROtsc’s ninth centre in the UK, will be used to work on behalf of their client Sky.
David Turner, HEROtsc’s Chief Executive Officer said, “I am delighted to say that we are in a position to offer employment opportunities at a variety of levels to the Derby workforce.”
“I would like to thank the current businesses in the Centre as well as Derby City Council and Marketing Derby for their help in making this happen so quickly.”
Chris Stylianou, Head of Sky’s Contact Centres said, “We’re very pleased to be partnering HEROtsc to open a new customer centre in Derby. We have picked Derby for its pool of talented prospective employees who can help us maintain our excellent standards.”
Adam Wilkinson, Chief Executive, Derby City Council added, “This shows the benefit of the Council’s open approach to business underpinned by our highly innovative £10m Regeneration Investment Fund. My staff have been focussed from the start on winning this opportunity against competition from much bigger cities. This is another winner for Derby.”
John Forkin, Managing Director at Marketing Derby said, “Marketing Derby are delighted that HEROtsc recognised the highly skilled workforce in Derby. “
“Attracting this level of investment is not easy and there has been a joined up effort from a number of parties including Derby City Council, Citibank, Barclaycard and property agents CBRE and Jones Lang LaSalle, working together to secure this investment for Derby.”
“It was a real team effort and I’m delighted for the hundreds of people who will soon be employed there.”
